Richard B. Cheney, prominent businessman and public servant is the vice-president. Cheney is a prominent figure in Washington politics, worked with four presidents of the US. George W. Bush is the fourth. Bush picked Cheney to be his vice-presidential candidate in July 2000 citing his knowledge and expertise. Dick Cheney was a chief of staff for presidents. He was a member of the United States Congress as Secretary of Defense and served the country in a variety of positions. Republicans and Democrats alike respect his honesty. Cheney has said that he regards his job as a trustworthy but discrete adviser in Bush's administration. Cheney accepted his role as Republican vice president that he would like to serve with a presidential candidate who will work cross-partisan and to collaborate with political rivals with respect and in an unifying cause. Richard Bruce Cheney born Jan 30th, 1941 in Lincoln Nebraska, the son Richard Herbert Cheney the former Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. When he was 13 years old, Bruce moved with his parents to Casper (in the US state of Wyoming) which is where his father served as director of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's the district for soil conservation.
